Madison Borden, ma

Expressive Arts Therapist & Mental Health Therapist in Greater Boston, MA

Welcome! The hardest part of therapy is taking the first step –– I’m so glad you did!

I am an Expressive Arts Therapist working towards my license as a Licensed Menth Health Counselor (LMHC). Leading with empathy, curiosity, and warmth, my approach to psychotherapy integrates holistic healing practices that emphasize human resilience and vulnerability. I work with individuals and groups in areas of depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, emotional regulation, trauma, and grief and loss.

My practice includes integrative approaches grounded in Expressive Arts Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Ecotherapy. Using a strength-based approach, my practice is inclusive, non-pathologizing, and centered around the client’s overall well-being.

I believe humans have an innate connection to art and nature. Engaging with the arts often evokes deeply rooted emotions and responses that have never been expressed or explored. My goal is to help you, as the client, foster healing and wholeness by exploring your felt senses, thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we will create a care plan catered to your needs, strengths, and goals. I truly look forward to supporting you in your life journey.

“We reach home in many ways: music, art, desert, forest, sunrise, solitude. Whatever revivifies balance is what is essential. That is home.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés
